Las Vegas’s art scene includes the immersive digital experiences of Arte Museum Las Vegas, the soon-to-open Las Vegas Museum of Art (LVMA), and the Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art at UNLV. History

Arte Museum Las Vegas is the first U.S. location in a digital art movement created by South Korean design firm d’strict. It opened on November 29, 2023, combining high-resolution projection mapping, interactive elements, immersive soundscapes, and scent diffusion. Arte Museum venues around the world have welcomed millions of visitors, and the Las Vegas location is the beginning of a planned expansion across the United States (Exhibit City News, Traveler Lifes).

The original Las Vegas Art Museum was founded in 1950 at 9600 West Sahara Avenue, where it shared space with the Sahara West Library. It closed in 2009, and its collection moved to the Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art at UNLV.

The new LVMA is planned for Symphony Park. Designed by Francis Kéré, its 90,000-square-foot building will include exhibition spaces, public spaces, and a sculpture park.

Exhibitions are regularly updated and include collaborations with international and local artists. Past highlights include Bailey Anderson’s THE NEON LAKE, exploring Las Vegas’s blend of neon and nature (Las Vegas City Hall Gallery), and Stories from Backstage: Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas, an immersive look at the city’s shows.

Arte Museum also hosts artist talks, workshops, and community events (Las Vegas Events).

Las Vegas Museum of Art

The planned LVMA at Symphony Park will present exhibitions and public programs. Its partnerships with LACMA and the Elaine P. Wynn & Family Foundation support exhibitions and community-focused events. Programming includes guided tours, educational workshops, and public programs.

Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art

The Barrick Museum’s permanent collection includes works by Dale Chihuly, Marc Chagall, Auguste Rodin, and local artists. Its 702 Series features solo shows by Las Vegas-affiliated artists, curated by Dr. Libby Lumpkin. Rotating exhibitions include contemporary art, interactive installations, and community projects.
