AmericasMart Atlanta is a wholesale trade center in downtown Atlanta, Georgia, with three interconnected buildings covering more than 7.2 million square feet. It is described as the world’s largest collection of wholesale showrooms and the world’s largest permanent wholesale marketplace. History
Architect John C. Portman Jr. developed AmericasMart as part of his vision to make Atlanta a center of global trade. In the late 1950s, he began developing Peachtree Center, a 14-block downtown urban development undertaken without public funding. AmericasMart opened in 1961 as a marketplace for manufacturers, designers and buyers of home furnishings, gifts, rugs and apparel (Blackstone Press Release; AmericasMart About).
The campus grew from a single building into three interconnected towers with expansive showrooms and open atriums. Enclosed bridges connect the buildings and allow visitors to move between them in different weather (Atlanta Market New Buyer Basics).

Hours, admission and registration
Permanent showrooms are generally open Monday–Friday, 10:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. During major markets, hours are extended and temporary exhibits are added (AmericasMart Visit).
Admission is free for verified retail buyers and industry professionals. Pre-registration is required, and attendees must provide proof of business credentials. Atlanta Market is a trade-only event for qualified buyers, designers, manufacturers and other professionals.
