Centrepoint has two roles in Dubai: it is the name of a flagship retail concept under Landmark Group and of the Dubai Metro’s eastern Red Line terminus, formerly Rashidiya Metro Station. History and Development
Centrepoint Metro Station opened as Rashidiya Metro Station on 9 September 2009 as part of Dubai’s initial Metro project. Its location near Dubai International Airport and the Mirdif area made it the Red Line’s eastern terminus, connecting residential and commercial zones (unionmetrostation.com).
On 4 August 2021, the RTA renamed Rashidiya station Centrepoint to associate it with a recognisable commercial destination and support passenger wayfinding (unionmetrostation.com). The station’s presence has also spurred real estate and commercial development in the Rashidiya area, supporting Dubai’s vision for integrated, transit-oriented neighbourhoods.
Centrepoint, the retail concept, began in Kuwait in 2005 and has since become a leading retail concept across the Gulf.

Metro station and connections
Centrepoint is a Red Line endpoint and a transit hub. The line connects to Dubai International Airport, Deira City Centre, BurJuman, Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall, Dubai Marina and Jumeirah Lakes Towers (unionmetrostation.com). Passengers can transfer to the Green Line at Union or BurJuman for wider city access, including Expo 2020 and Jebel Ali.
The station has spacious, air-conditioned platforms, bilingual signage, advanced security, real-time information displays and multilingual customer support. Passenger facilities include air-conditioned restrooms, lifts, ramps, tactile paving, designated train cabins and facilities for passengers with disabilities. Walkways connect the station to Bin Saugat Centre, Al Rashidiya Park and other local landmarks. Feeder buses extend its reach, and the station has park-and-ride spaces.
Centrepoint stores
Centrepoint’s flagship stores are in prominent malls including The Dubai Mall, Mall of the Emirates, City Centre Mirdif, Ibn Battuta Mall and Dubai Hills Mall (Dubai Shopping Guide; uaetiming.com). The Burjuman Mall location is the UAE’s largest, at 43,400 square feet.

Metro hours, tickets and fares
The station’s hours are listed in two ways:
- One listing gives daily service from 5:00 AM to 1:00 AM, with minor adjustments during weekends and holidays (RTA Dubai).
- Another gives Sunday–Thursday, 5:00 AM–12:00 AM; Friday, 10:00 AM–1:00 AM; and Saturday, 5:00 AM–12:00 AM. Check holiday variations on the official site.
Metro travel is cashless through the NOL card system. Cards are available at station kiosks, authorised outlets and online; they can also be purchased at station kiosks or through the Nol Pay App. Silver cards are standard and Gold cards are premium. Zone-based fares range from AED 3 to AED 10 per trip; single journeys are also listed as AED 3+. Day passes offer unlimited travel and are described as ideal for tourists. Senior citizens aged 60+, students and children under five travel free; discounts are also listed for students and seniors.
Station access, parking and assistance
Parking is free for Metro users with valid NOL cards, with up to 2,700 spots; fees apply to non-Metro users. The station also has park-and-ride spaces and feeder buses. Parking is available near the station, and taxi access is available.
The station is described as fully equipped for passengers with mobility challenges, with lifts, ramps and tactile paving. Metro staff are trained for emergencies, and call points are accessible throughout the station. Saudi German Hospital is nearby.

Flagship stores are accessible by public transport, notably the Red Line Metro (Bayut). Parking and taxi access are available at all mall locations. Entry is free and no tickets are required. Major malls have parking, and family amenities include play areas, baby care rooms and seating.

Nearby Places and Attractions

The station is described as a gateway to Dubai International Airport, while the visitor information also lists DXB Airport as 5–10 minutes away by taxi or bus. The station serves as a route to Mirdif, Deira and the rest of the Red Line.
For Deira and Old Dubai, transfer to the Green Line at Union Station to reach the Gold Souk, Spice Souk and Dubai Creek. The station also provides access to Dubai Marina and other city attractions; historic districts including Deira and Old Dubai can be reached via Metro interchanges (Visit Dubai). Heritage sites such as the Gold Souk, Spice Souk and Dubai Creek connect modern Metro travel with traditional culture.
