History
Sweden-UAE relations and the embassy
Sweden and the UAE formalized diplomatic relations in 1972. Before the embassy in Abu Dhabi opened, Swedish representation in the UAE was managed through Kuwait. A Chargé d’Affaires was stationed in Abu Dhabi from 1983 to 1992.
