About KSOU
Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) is an institution for open and distance learning (ODL) in India, located in the Manasagangotri area of Mysore. History
KSOU was established as an independent institution through the KSOU Act of 1992, following recommendations from the National Policy on Education (NPE-1986) and the Central Education Advisory Board. Its roots lie in the University of Mysore’s Institute of Correspondence Courses and Continuing Education (ICC&CE), launched in 1969. The ICC&CE was among India’s first major correspondence initiatives. Academic structure and programs
KSOU has 32 departments and more than 80 academic programs as of 2025. Campus highlights
