History
Uttara University
Uttara University was established in 2003 by the DAR Trust (Dr. M Azizur Rahman Trust) under the Private University Act of 1992. Its founding patron, Dr. M Azizur Rahman, was an entrepreneur, economist, and freedom fighter, and served as the university’s first Vice-Chancellor. UU was created to meet growing demand for higher education in the rapidly urbanizing Uttara area. It initially operated from temporary facilities (Wikipedia).

National Martyrs' Memorial (Jatiyo Smriti Soudho)
